Our Class Schedule

To register for one of our classes, just go to the contact us page and send us an email. Tell us which class you want to be in, how many will be in your party, and how to contact you. We'll be in touch very quickly to firm up the details.

If you'd like to be automatically informed of our upcoming classes, we have a mailing list that we send announcements to any time we add classes or change our class schedule. It's a very low traffic mailing list, just a message or two a month. And, of course, we'd never dream of selling your email address. If you'd like to sign up, just surf over to our class announcements page and follow the directions.

In addition to our scheduled classes, we also do retreats and workshops. These can be at your facility or ours. We tailor our retreats and workshops to meet your needs. Just click on the retreats and workshops link to get more information.

A "twofer", a "bogo" - we're combining our  Bagel Mania! and Afternoon Tea classes.
Sanger, TX
In Bagel Mania! you'll learn how to make genuine New York style bagels - dense, chewy and packed with flavor!  It's all but impossible to buy bagels like these, but you can make them!  AND if that weren't enough in Afternoon Tea With The Avery's you'll learn how to make tea properly (and improperly, the way we usually make it) as well as an assortment of afternoon tea delights - scones, finger sandwiches, and much much more.  This will be an usual pairing in that there will be two festive events - a bagel party in the morning and then afternoon tea!  Only $75 for the first person in your party and $56.25 for friends or relatives who sign up with you.

Whole grain breads with home ground flour
Sanger, Tx A number of people grind their own flour.  Some do it for nutrition, some do it for taste, some do it to save money.  Depending on my mood, I get skeptical of one or more of those goals.  Far too often bread made with home ground flour tends to be far too heavy, and is often made with eggs, milk and other ingredients that aren't really needed to make good bread.  In this class, we'll essentially have the Whole Grains Class, only with flour you'll help me grind.  You CAN make good bread with home ground flour, bread that doesn't resemble a brick, bread that doesn't have an extra 200 calories of unneeded fats in it per slice.  Only $75 for the first person in your party and $56.25 for friends or relatives who sign up with you.
Sat, April 10, 2010 A vacation for the teacher There are some notes I need to take, some recipes I need to convert, and some baking experiments I want to try.  So, instead of having a baking class, I'll go into a baking frenzy.  If you want to come by, drop me an email.  Maybe it could happen.....
Sat, April 24, 2010 Simple Simon Met A Pieman Sanger, Tx More often then not, when we think of pies, we think about sweet pies.  And there's nothing wrong with sweet pies.  However, this time we're exploring savory pies.  Somewhat like pot pies, these are the quintessential pub grub, the mainstays of many pubs.  A pie crust can cover a multitude of leftovers and still be delightful!  What pies will we make?  The jury is out, but Steak and Kidney is a possibility, with the alternative of Roasted Chicken and Leek pie.  You might also be making  Celeriac, Bacon and cheddar pie, or maybe Chard, Broccoli and roasted onion pie.  For variation, we might also make some Cajun style pierogies or south of the border Empanadas.
Who knows what the future holds? You could - just suggest a future class!
